I am a Surface Pattern Designer based in San Diego, California, creating patterns that find their home on stationery, home decor and gift products. Patterns inspire me because they can make an ordinary object come to life.
My design life started when I was a kid in the early 90s, pre-Internet with nothing to do, I created and designed stickers for my friends on the only graphics program we had on our computer. It was clear that art and design was my path.
Since then, I’ve been doing graphic design for over 10 years in different industries and recently got into surface design in 2016. A self-taught surface designer, I started painting watercolor motifs that I developed into repeating patterns. I’m inspired by pastel colors, nature and abstract art. It brings me so much joy to see how my artwork can develop into a beautiful pattern.
When I’m not designing, you’ll find me at a yoga or kickboxing class, eating peanut butter M&Ms or exploring my home base of sunny San Diego.
